Carambola is a coffee shop and bakery in the historic centre of Guimarães. It was born from the friendship of its two founders — one obsessed with coffee, the other famous for selling Bolas de Berlim on the beach.
The visual identity draws from their story and the café‘s architecture. Working closely with the architect, we created a symbol that blends the shapes of a coffee bean, a Bola de Berlim, and two architectural details — the long linear lamp and a circular metal floor inlay.
The result is a simple, balanced mark that captures the spirit of a Portuguese café: a place of movement, conversation, and connection with the city and its people.
